Richard Bienenfeld Architect, PC, founded by Richard Bienenfeld in 1976, is a medium sized full-service architectural firm located in New Rochelle, NY, just outside of New York City. The firm is comprised of 8 architects, designers, detailers, code experts, drafters and administrative personnel. During the past four years the firm began providing services in new roles as “Executive Architect” or “Production Architect” by providing leadership and expertise in support of projects designed by well known national and international firms. We truly believe that our profession is best practiced through strategic collaboration of diverse professionals with a broad range of talent and expertise

Founding Principal
Richard Bienenfeld completed his architecture training in 1971 receiving a Bachelor and a Masters Degree in Architecture from Syracuse University.
Since his graduation he has had a varied and illustrative career as an architect practicing principally in New York State. He is a member of the NCARB and has been licensed in Connecticut, New Jersey, California, Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin, Rhode Island, as well as New York State. Mr. Bienenfeld is a Corporate Member of the American Institute of Architects.
Known as a highly skilled architectural designer, he has produced building designs for more than $400 million in construction costs spanning a professional career or more than 30 years. His projects include municipal buildings, institutional buildings, corporate interiors, individual residences and multi-family projects, schools, office buildings and religious edifices.
Mr. Bienenfeld is know by his clients as an architect who can brilliantly incorporate the many considerations for each project which must be part of any successful design into sketches, drawings and artistic renderings which deftly convey his design concepts.
His expertise is not limited to overall design concepts, but he excels in planning, materials technology, detailing and financial management and budgets. He is a project leader who has unparalleled expertise with every aspect of the architecture practice including building design, construction document production, building systems and technology, client presentations and interaction as well as managing the human resources of the firm.
Associate Principal
Joseph received a Bachelor of Architecture Degree from Syracuse University and has worked in the profession on numerous project types for several New York City based firms. He has over seventeen years of architectural experience in commercial, institutional and residential projects. He joined the staff of Richard Bienenfeld Architect, P.C. and assumed key responsibilities for numerous projects in addition to having managerial oversight of each project in the RBA office.
Associate Principal
Sam graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Architecture from New York Institute of Technology, during which time he spent summers in firms gaining real work experience in the field of architecture. Since then, Sam has gained invaluable experience working on projects in the fields of Healthcare and Housing. In addition, he has worked on numerous projects utilizing and developing all aspects of design, space and site planning skills.
Senior Architectural Designer
Mark Markiewicz received the degree Master of Architecture from Princeton University in 1974.
During his extensive career his focus has been in design throughout all phases of projects and many building types. Included are corporate headquarters, university buildings, research labs, performance centers, secondary schools and master planning. Many of the projects are award winners and are located in distant places such as the Volvo Headquarters in Sweden, schools in Italy, Spain and China and involved the preparation of design documents in association with local firms which were responsible for contract documents. Mark’s design background is strengthened by his skill in freehand drawing and its very practical benefit of streamlining communication among the team, the client and the contractor.
Senior Architectural Designer
Thomas Frankel received the degree of Bachelor of Architecture from University of California at Berkeley in 1970. Since that time he has compiled over 30 years of varied experience in design, construction document production as well as construction administration for a wide range of commercial and residential projects. The projects Mr. Frankel tackled varied in scope, including new residences, extensive alteration, historical renovation, and additions. He has also deftly served many clients for corporate interiors and commercial retail facilities.
Thomas’ career path included a very successful period as owner and operator of a design-build firm designing and erected individual projects exceeding $3 million dollars in construction cost. This hand on experience has provided Mr. Frankel with a rarely found skill in a professional architect, one who is expert at both design and building.
Thomas joined the team of Richard Bienenfeld Architect, P.C. as a Project Architect with complete responsibility for projects of the firm’s most valued clients. He continues to add his vast expertise and professionalism to RBA as a key member architectural design department.
Project Manager
Margo Neri received the degree of Bachelor of Architecture from Pratt Institute and a B.A. from The Catholic University of America. Margo has worked in the architectural field for over 25 years. Her work has been published in Metropolitan Home, “W” Magazine and Home Magazine. She has won “Best of Neocon” award for her furniture designs..
